      The goal of our course

Our online course with individual consultations is designed for complete beginners who are just starting or restarting their Hungarian language learning.

In the e-learning course you will learn Hungarian language - and culture - through videos and written explanations. In 3 panels, you will find 30 sections in total.

You can go at your own pace and when you're ready, you can book an online consultation session with your teacher to go over your questions, practice what you've learned and focus on oral communication.

What do we develop during the course?

On the course, we will develop your
      • ability to understand the Hungarian language through various descriptions and exercises to help you understand and practise them,
      • speaking skills through individual consultations, where you can arrive prepared and really focus on oral communication,
      • Hungarian vocabulary through the presentation and practice of the most important Hungarian keywords,
      • writing skills through written assignments,
      • pronunciation through video exercises and individual consultations,
      • cultural understanding through the presentation of key cultural elements,
      • and, not least, your language learning skills.

What can you find in the course?

The course can be completed in approximately 30 learning hours.
The recommended completion time: 10-15 weeks (3 or 2 hours/week).

What will I be able to do at the end of the course?

This course is the second step toward reaching level A1, which is achieved through three courses.
The three courses together cover the basic level (A1 level) of Hungarian language, focusing on the most important and most frequently used elements of the Hungarian language.

By the end of the course, you:
      • are able to describe your city and your apartment, and asking other people about their living conditions,
      • know how to talk about basic food, your breakfast, lunch and dinner, and typical foods,
      • can navigate in basic café and shop dialogues and asking for directions at the street,
      • are able to describe the time and frequency of different activities,
      • can understand and ask about calendars and opening hours,

I graduated from ELTE, one of the most prestigious universities in Hungary, as a teacher of Hungarian and Hungarian as a foreign language. I have a PhD in Applied Linguistics, focusing on the development of methodology in Hungarian as a foreign language, teaching real-life dialogues and curriculum development - I have many academic publications on these topics.
Teaching is my passion. I have been teaching both short and long intensive courses at several universities, organisations, companies and for three years as a freelancer. At ELTE I teach and prepare future teachers of Hungarian as a foreign language.
